Service Description

Monitoring and evaluation are a huge part of a senior leader's job in schools. However, it's is often difficult to see beyond one's own biases and bug bears. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is needed to help school leaders to see things as they really are. Often outsiders will perceive your school very differently to how you see it and will pick up on many positives that you as a school leader have normalised as you strive for further improvement. Visitors might also notice areas where progress might be made, prompting school leaders to investigate further things that they might not have noticed before. As a leader in several schools, including primary schools and an all-through school, and as a primary lead practitioner for an academy trust, Aidan has had good experience of seeing schools in action, and monitoring and evaluating their teaching, learning and leadership. Aidan knows that it is important to work as a partner and as a critical friend with leaders and teachers. He fosters a supportive relationship within which he provides constructive feedback. During a review day, Aidan will work with senior and/or middle leaders to conduct a review of teaching and learning and/or curriculum (a single subject, or several subjects together).
