Teachers are a school's most expensive and valuable resource. School leaders know that continual teacher development is necessary in order for teachers to remain motivated and effective. Training courses and weekly CPD can be excellent ways of developing teachers, however they don't always provide that personal touch or a tailored approach. 1:1 coaching is a fantastic way to provide teachers with bespoke CPD - a coach and a teacher can work together on what is most important for a particular teacher at a particular time. During a coaching session coach and coachee can work in partnership to evaluate practice and plan for future improvement. Coaching empowers teachers to develop their pedagogy, subject knowledge, behaviour management, motivation as well as many other aspects of their practice and is seen by teachers as a real investment in their careers. Aidan has experience of coaching trainees, teachers and leaders in several different schools where coaching is at the forefront of their teacher development program. He has worked alongside school leaders to set up the practice of coaching, demonstrating techniques and adapting its delivery to suit the context. Aidan coaches in a non-judgemental environment where coachees are encouraged to reflect deeply on their practice as, through questioning and discussion, Aidan draws out self-realised solutions. Aidan's 1:1 coaching sessions will take place remotely, providing coaching to teachers and leaders, regardless of career stage, enabling members of staff to fulfil their potential by guiding them through a reflective process and planning for change.
